2013. Orlando, Florida. Main Street U.S.A.
Though our friendship wasn't instantaneous, we quickly bonded over our mutual love of venti iced coffees, musicals, traveling, and of course, the name.

After seven months of magical memories, we each returned home to finish college, and then we were back to Orlando, degrees in hand. For three years, we worked in the same role at Disney before Rachel Elizabeth transferred to a new position. But even then, the epic reign didn't end. We soon took the same job at Universal Orlando Resort and worked together for a few months longer before going our separate ways in careers. Nevertheless, we had the nickname "The Rachels" bestowed upon us from both friends and coworkers alike and proudly own it seven years later.

Since the beginning, we've traveled together to The Bahamas, Louisiana, California, New York, Europe, and Asia with much more to come. Make sure to subscribe so you can follow us on these #racations, look back on past ones, and enjoy everything in between!

We'll welcome you with open arms even if your name isn't Rachel!
FAVORITE DESTINATION

Iceland was a solid 10/10 from me! We found that the best locations there were ones that we just happened to be driving past on the way to our destinations. Ask Rachel how many times I said, “this is unreal”.

This just recently changed with our latest trip and Norway now sits at the top. More specifically, The Lofoten Islands. Though its runner-ups are right on its heels, including Austria and Iceland.

BEST TRAVEL MEMORY
RACHEL ALLYSE
To keep it short, we are both terrified of heights. We spent an overnight layover in London and I brought us to a café(?) that was on the 49th floor of a skyscraper. The elevator was glass. I attempted to avoid going back down the elevator by going to the café but that also had all-glass walls. I still don’t think my heart rate has recovered.

Visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. It was winter and the famous bridge was closed so we got daring because we didn't travel all that way for nothing, gosh darn it! Not only did we get to the bridge, but we climbed up a hill through the trees and came across this INSANE and unique view of the castle (please don't arrest us).

FAVORITE BOOK
RACHEL ALLYSE
I swear I’ve read a lot of great books from incredible writers but there’s only one book that I’ve read so many times that it is literally falling apart: Dianne Wynne Jones’ Howl’s Moving Castle. If you’ve seen the Ghibli movie and didn’t know it was adapted from this novel, you’re missing out. It’s a book for young readers that has the same characters you know and love but with a different plot!

If a book wrecks me from the inside out, it's high on my list. Kristin Hannah currently has the market on this with The Great Alone and The Nightingale. Don't read these if you're looking for something happy-go-lucky.

#1 BUCKET LIST ITEM

Make a wish at the Trevi Fountain.

For as long as I can remember, my bucket list was led by my desire to see the Northern Lights. I'm both happy and sad to have checked this off my list in early 2020 and look forward to my newest #1: Croatia!

Hey, y’all! I am currently reporting to you from Central Florida where I have lived for about 6 years, but I was born and raised in Louisiana. I attended Louisiana State University where I earned a degree in Education which I am putting to great use working at one of the Florida theme parks. When I’m not at work, I often venture out and try new things in my local area which I am hoping to share with y’all as well as DIY projects that we do at home. Oh, I also have a Golden Doodle who might make an appearance from time to time as we try to find local dog-friendly experiences. Unfortunately, she’s not a fan of car rides so we’re more restricted than I had hoped to be in that aspect.

Before meeting Rachel, I had only been out of the country once and that was just to Cancun when I was very young. I was also only traveling to see my brother who was in the Navy as I didn’t really have anyone else to travel with. Now, I am happy to say that I’ve been to a total of 17 countries and our travels have given me the confidence to travel alone when another option isn’t available. We have not only learned so much about traveling but also discovered a lot about ourselves. I encourage everyone to go out and find their moving buddy then never let them go!

Minnesota born and raised, I betrayed my roots and hopped across the state line (barely) to attend North Dakota State University where I earned my degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I've had a love for travel since I was young, but it was in college that it truly blossomed when I studied abroad for a summer in Belgium and visited eleven countries around Europe in those few short months.

I also have NDSU to blame (sorry, thank) for you reading this right now as it was an internship at Walt Disney World and subsequent move to Florida that led Rachel and me to become best friends and travel partners. After nearly five memorable years working at Disney and Universal, I missed my family and home too much and decided to move back to the frozen tundra. Inadvertently, I've stayed in the theme park world while continuing to keep travel a priority in my life. My free time is spent dreaming of the next adventure and the opportunity to cross another destination off my ever-growing list!
